From deep within the stratosphere of the paved and over-paved boardwalk of the local comics scene, a critter with countless heads springs out (dramatic pause)!!! The Cosmics group!!! Great amateurs/writers/drawers of experimental, overly-chiselled and under-priced strips from the wild EU’s easter fringes! Cosmics is a context for (almost)weekly tele-gatherings, where pencils get sharpened, page formats get cut like they’re funds and everlasting memories form. The group is also an attempt to serve the fine readers of small-print comics, supplying them with stories drawn with various hands and feet, with the curls of our eyelashes or with the tips of our elbows, by occasional drawers, soured or sweetened, cooks, accountants and so on, on subjects that would rarely get past the first pitch meeting at any printhouse with a healthy fear of god (or cringe).

If you read your favourite buzzword in the text above, keep us close for announcements and news! We’ll be back with more or less concrete things faster than you can say AAA!.

Cristian Dârstar

A rare sighting during our sporadic discord meetings, the elusive Akira envelopes snippets of life in dense layers of interpretation.

Submissions

What’s the current format? Can we deviate from the norm?

Each issue has a different layout, binding, printing technique mix, shape-shifting contributors and a random subject. If you have a work that might fit in, regardless of the call announcements, we are open to debate alternatives.

Can I submit already published work?

Often, no, however we are open to make exceptions.

What can contributors expect to receive in return?

Bi-weekly or monthly meetings on Discord are the Cosmics playground for discussion. We try to give several issues of the number to each of our supporting aaauthors.

Since the project does not benefit from any institutional support, we cannot temporarily guarantee any remuneration.

Where can I meet the Cosmics people behind AAA ?

Email comet@cosmics.ro with any ideas. We typically respond within 3–5 working days. We’ll announce any Art Book Festival participations through our insta or newsletter.
